  17. Get the mdmusrsp.inf file from USR's WWW site.  That'll take care of yr
  18. blues.  Just as another person has pointed out, identify it as either the
  19. internal or external 28800.  I have had no prollems with it since I used

  25. I agree with you on the P&P portion.  I couldn't get Win95 to identify a
  26. 33.6 Sportster Internal modem (which *IS* what it displayed when it
  27. auto-identified my hardware).  Since there were no default drivers to select
  28. from, I ended up switching my internal settings to Com2 Irq3 (if I'm not
  29. mistaken).  From that point on, after a re-detect hardware wizard, I had 3
  30. Com ports (1 and 3 would be my serial ports and 2 was my modem).  Everything
  31. worked from there on out.  P&P my ass (for now, that is).  Com2 worked
  32. beautifully (and that isn't saying much for this Hewlett-Crappard Pavilion).

  34. Set the modem to a Com port, don't go with P&P right now.  Unless you know
  35. someone from USR who can help ya.

  40. You might tweak the AT settings -- found under Win95 in the Modem Applet
  41. (Control Panel), under the Advanced options for the recognized modems.  Use
  42. the blank line underneath the Standard option.  I'm recalling this from
  43. memory, so pardon the misty clarity (oxymoron?)
